Legends like Stone Cold, The Rock, and Chris Jericho have always had great catchphrases which instantly evoked a strong reaction from the crowd.

The new breed of superstars is not far behind. With their catchy lines, they’ve got the WWE Universe on its feet.

Here are the top 5 catchphrases in WWE today. If you agree with this list, give me a “Hell yeah!”

#5 “You shall be deleted” (Matt Hardy)

In an era of professional wrestling that’s flooded with young talent, you would not expect an “Attitude Era” veteran to go viral. But Matt Hardy’s ‘Woken’ character has defied the odds and is now the most popular gimmick in WWE. The persona is one of a kind and the ‘DELETE!’ chants have taken over the arenas by storm.

The ‘Woken’ gimmick has not garnered the same attention that the ‘Broken’ gimmick did, but the fact that Hardy has been given complete creative freedom, he will certainly not disappoint. After all, good things come to people who wait.

#4 “Walk with Elias” (Elias)

WWE stands for “Walk With Elias”. Who wants to Walk with Elias?

Elias has come a long way from his forgettable ‘Drifter’ gimmick in his NXT days. His main-roster debut was not highly anticipated but made a good use of being an underdog talent. His mic skills have improved drastically, and he has proved to be a main event caliber talent.

On E & C’s Pod of Awesomeness, Elias talked about his Walk With Elias gimmick:

Elias has turned out as a great surprise package. He has made great use of his opportunities, whether it’s to gain heat or prove that he belongs with the big guys. He has all the tools to be a great heel and is still getting over with the fans.

#3 “Rusev Day” (Rusev)

Rusev was always booked as a rude foreign guy who hates everything about the United States. This did help him become a top heel but did not get him over with the WWE Universe.

His recent run with Aiden English has finally got him the attention he rightfully deserves. The ‘Rusev Day’ gimmick is arguably the most entertaining factor on SmackDown Live. The fans have been more behind him than ever. ‘Rusev Day’ chants can be heard at arenas worldwide, irrespective of whether the Bulgarian Brute is wrestling at a house show or TV taping.

Rusev talked to VultureHound about Rusev Day:

Rusev is one of the greatest talents on the roster today. With fans finally rallying behind him, there’s no better time for WWE to give him a solid push. Indeed, this gimmick has a lot of potential and should act as a vehicle to help Rusev climb up the card in WWE.

#2 “The house that AJ Styles built” (AJ Styles)

Ever since his debut in WWE, AJ Styles has become the best performer on the roster. In 2016, Styles had one of the best rookie years in WWE history. He is handy on the microphone and has unparallel in-ring skills. He is one of the few wrestlers who can get over with the fans as both heel and babyface. Since the Superstar Shake-up last year, Styles has become the face of SmackDown Live.

AJ Styles’ claim is that he is the reason people watch SmackDown Live. Well, he is not wrong. He is the biggest draw of the program, and being a two-time and current WWE Champion is a living testament to that. Styles has helped validate SmackDown Live making that brand as a legitimate threat to Raw.

#1 “Get These Hands” (Braun Strowman)

Nobody imagined that just a simple phrase would get ‘The Monster among Men’ so over with the WWE Universe. Strowman was already getting attention by flipping trucks, throwing wrestlers, and pulling down a part of the Raw stage on Lesnar and Kane. But an impromptu promo connected so well with the live audience that fans have taken to putting him over for it.

Realizing how catchy his phrase had become, Strowman told The J&J Show on ESPN Radio that he’s trying to get a shirt made:

Braun Strowman being unscripted is probably best for WWE. He is already great in the ring, and when he just goes out and says these things, he instantly becomes a fan favorite.
