#5 Braun Strowman was told about his WrestleMania 36 match just hours before the event
Braun Strowman won his first WWE Universal Championship reign at WrestleMania 36 after defeating Goldberg for the title. However, Strowman wasn’t a part of the initial plan for the Universal Championship match and WWE had to scramble to get him to the Performance Center as a replacement for Roman Reigns.
Sports Illustrated spoke to the former Universal Champion regarding his sudden Universal Championship match at WrestleMania 36 against Goldberg.
Not only did Braun Strowman deliver a few powerslams to the legendary Golberg, but he also managed to win his first WWE Universal Championship. This backstage story clearly shows how travelling schedules can affect WWE Superstars.
#4 Braun Strowman got extremely emotional after teaming with The Undertaker and Roman Reigns
The Undertaker is arguably the biggest name the pro wrestling industry has ever produced, and almost every WWE Superstar has dreamt of sharing the ring with The Deadman someday. In 2018, Braun Strowman got his opportunity at Madison Square Garden.
He teamed up with Roman Reigns and Taker to take on Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin and Elias in the main event of Monday Night RAW. The match was as good as expected, with Braun Strowman’s team picking up the win. Following their match, Strowman went backstage and dwelled in nostalgia.
Braun Strowman got very emotional as he spoke to the WWE crew after the match, talking about how it was a once in a lifetime experience.
We’ve seen Braun Strowman get emotional backstage several times, especially after Reigns relinquished his Universal Championship due to his leukaemia relapsing. However, this was one feel-good moment for him.
#3 Brock Lesnar rocked Braun Strowman for real at Royal Rumble 2018
While wrestling may be scripted, the action in the ring is very much real and takes years of training to perform safely. During the 2018 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, three of the company’s biggest men, including Braun Strowman, entered the ring in a WWE Universal Championship match.
With Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman and Kane in the ring, things were expected to get extremely physical. However, a stiff kick from Strowman to Lesnar annoyed “The Beast”, who responded with a very real punch.
Braun Strowman was visibly stunned by the punch and it took him a few seconds to get back in his senses. While one would expect Lesnar to be very unhappy with the Superstar following the match, Strowman revealed both men were completely cool with each other afterwards.
Talking to Wrestling Travel on behalf of talkSPORT, Braun Strowman revealed the atmosphere backstage after the two men rocked each other for real during the match.
This shows that the Superstars share a mutual respect for each other and the sport. Even though things can get ugly inside the ring at times, they know how to respond and behave outside of it.
#2 Braun Strowman is the godfather of Bray Wyatt’s son
This is one of the more interesting facts about Braun Strowman. The Monster Among Men was helped by Bray Wyatt when he kicked off his WWE career. He was made a big part of The Wyatt Family on screen.

Backstage, Braun Strowman and Wyatt are known to be good friends who ride together and share special moments. Even their matches have a special chemistry that we haven’t seen Strowman share with many other WWE Superstars.
In May 2019, Wyatt and Jojo Offerman welcomed their first child together to the world and called him Knash Sixx. Braun Strowman is the godfather to Wyatt and Jojo’s child Nash.
That’s right, one of the biggest men in WWE is the godfather to ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt’s child. The two shared a special photo with Nash during the RAW Reunion episode, which shows just how close the two Superstars are.
While Braun Strowman does not have any children of his own yet, we’ve seen him as a caring and fun-loving individual backstage. He might be the perfect choice for a godfather to Wyatt and Jojo’s child.
#1 Vince McMahon talked Braun Strowman out of contemplating suicide
On the WWE Chronicle documentary available on the WWE Network, Braun Strowman spoke about several interesting topics. At one point, Strowman revealed that he was extremely frustrated with his position in the company sometime in 2019 and was contemplating suicide.
The Monster Among Men was losing hope and decided to bust in on Vince McMahon during a meeting, telling him that he needed to talk. Vince immediately kicked everyone out of the meeting and had a “father, son” talk with Braun Strowman.
Braun Strowman revealed how the talk helped him get back on track and get over all the negative talk and frustration.
Vince had been known to help his employees out whenever they’ve needed him the most. Everyone is glad that Braun Strowman found the courage to speak to Vince, who helped him out of a very difficult time in his life.
