Kelly had a 26-21 record in Philadelphia. He started off hot, winning the NFC East in his first year, but struggled last season going 6-9. His relationship with the front office faltered, and eventually led to his firing days before the season finale.

Prior to entering the NFL, Kelly had a lot of success as the head coach of the Oregon Ducks. He had a 46–7 record through four seasons at the collegiate level.
