This is also especially important in today’s modern WWE because the roster for both Raw and SmackDown has never been larger so there’s a significant amount of competition for any Superstar to outshine.
But, aside from the usual suspects like Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles, there are a handful of current main roster WWE Superstars from both Raw and SmackDown that have allegedly impressed the man upstairs (no, not God) and as a result could have a bright future in WWE.
So, let’s take a look at who Vince McMahon has reportedly been very impressed by recently.
#4 Lio Rush
Okay, so let’s get this one out of the way very quickly. Sure, Lio Rush is currently not on television after he allegedly earned himself a great deal of backstage heat with the current belief that he’s done with WWE.
But before this happened Rush was getting the spotlight on Monday Night Raw as Bobby Lashley’s incredibly athletic and incredibly vocal and charismatic manager. He was used so frequently that it was hard not to imagine that WWE had big plans for him, and that’s allegedly because he impressed Vince McMahon himself.
A social media promo that Rush had filmed himself was shown to Vince McMahon who was extremely impressed with what he saw and immediately set about calling up Rush from 205 Live to the main roster on Monday Night RAW. However, Rush proves that it’s one thing to get the boss onside, but another thing altogether to keep them onside.
#3 Ali
SmackDown Live’s rising star Ali is another 205 Live alumni who has made waves since being called up to the main roster and finding a home on the blue brand. In fact, were it not for some unfortunate injuries, he may very well have won championship gold by now!
Another factor behind Ali’s success on the main roster, aside from his obviously phenomenal in-ring talent, seems to be that he’s caught the eye of Vince McMahon, again thanks to the hard work he puts in in the ring, as well as writing and filming his own promos. The Chairman even offered him some advice, as Ali told Chris Jericho on Talk Is Jericho,
It certainly seems like a matter of time before Ali wins his first main roster title, and it might even be as soon as SummerSlam as he seems set to take on Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Title on the show.
#2 Drake Maverick
It’s been quite the torrid time for Drake Maverick since he became embroiled in the ongoing saga that is the 24/7 Title chase. First in his pursuit of the title, then in winning it against R-Truth and then losing it, not only on his wedding day, but also when he was ready to consummate his marriage to Renee Michelle. But, for us viewers, it’s been comedy gold.
Someone else who also thinks Maverick’s comedic sensibilities have been incredible during the 24/7 title segments is Vince McMahon and other top WWE officials, here’s what Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful said about Maverick,
#1 Andrade
Anyone who has followed Andrade work as La Sombra for CMLL will attest to the fact that he just might be one of the best wrestlers in the world and those that saw him in NXT will have come round to the idea by now.
However, someone else who is finally seeing what the rest of us have seen all along is Vince McMahon who is reportedly extremely impressed with Andrade and as such big things are expected from him. Here’s what Fightful reported on the matter,
